When Joseph saw his brothers for the first time in many years, some are intrigued by his reactions toward them. In Genesis 42:7 Joseph’s behavior seems contrary to what we would expect of him. “And Joseph saw his brethren, and he knew them, but made himself strange unto them, and spake roughly unto them…” When Joseph saw his brothers, he was immediately reminded of their behavior against him and the uncertainty of their love filled his heart. So he treated them as strangers!
